Bones and bone attachments are passive parts of the motor system, and skeletal muscles are active parts of the motor system.

According to current study about bones, there are 206 bones in the adult body. Children, on the other hand, have more bones than adults, because their sacrum has five bones, which grow into one. Coccyx of a child has 4-5 pieces, which also become one piece when growing up. The child has two ilium bones, two ischium bones, and two pubic bones. But for adults, they have two hipbones. As a result, children have 11-12 more bones than adults, which is 217-218.
